Burr!!!!!

Wow! I can't believe Christmas is over. We truly had a wonderful Christmas this year. God has blessed us in so many ways. It's amazing to see how things change from year to year. This time last year was so different in many ways to this year, and I already see next year being a year with even more changes. No time to get content around here:)

Ken and I were out earlier exchanging items from Christmas that were either too big or too small. We were having a pleasant time with our first real snow fall coming down...that is, until our Blazer almost didn't make it up a hill! Boy, it really ruined the mood, or at least mine:) I don't do too well in those conditions. Ken keeps his cool pretty good, but I get frantic! We decided to finish another day when the snow lets up. It is absolutely a blizzard out there right now, so Ken and Seth decided to go sledding with Seth's new sled he got for Christmas.

Seth finally got his Wii for Christmas so we have all had a blast playing that. I'm not much for video games, but this one is easy to control. He's been trying to convince me for some time that he would be exercising when playing Wii. I had been a skeptic, but now I believe him:) It really does get you moving!

Poor Caleb has been sick so I have waited to get more pics of the boys until he's better. Next week we'll all be back at school, work, and to our routine, so I hope to get more pics on the blog by then. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!

It's Christmas Time!

Well, our tree is up and house is decorated. I love this time of year. Sorry to not have that many pictures to post right now. Our lives have been super busy! Caleb and Seth are in the heart of basketball season and I can't tell you how many hours are invested in that...yes, we adults too! They are having a fun season and it is a joy to watch them. Ken and I are always joking around how watching the games gets our blood pressure going up, up, and up! It's so emotional, but fun of course. Jacob is busy as ever working and getting things ready for college next year. It still feels funny saying that. There will be a lot of transition over the next year with Jacob going to college, Caleb going to high school, and Seth going into 5th grade here at our elementary school (his last year to homeschool). I'll be looking at going back to work in education. I'm taking online courses and have a ways to go...a long ways, but want to get my foot in the door. I hope God reveals what that door is, because I'm a little nervous thinking about it. I've been home for so long that it will take getting used to being out in the work force again. Many changes but good ones! I hope to post again before Christmas, but if I don't manage to get to it I pray you all have a very Merry Christmas!

New Job!!

Ken accepted a new job yesterday and we are thrilled about the opportunity. He will be working for a company that provides education for at risk students. When the school systems can not keep the students in class due to emotional or behavioral issues they pay this company to provide the education for them. You can check it out at Education Alternatives Ken has been working on his M.Ed in Special Education with a desire to work with troubled youth so this will be perfect. He will be gaining experience while he finishes his school and then will get promoted from within as a certified teacher. The good news for Ken is academics is not the primary focus. Although they are teaching and helping the students meet their graduation requirements they also provide therapy for them. They have counselors on campus and one of Ken's jobs will be conducting group sessions working on life skills, dealing with emotions, and assisting them in relationships. The principal even told him they sometimes have to put academics on hold because it won't matter if the kids can multiply if they can't get along in the world. This is right up Ken's alley.
