Congratulations, Jacob!!

We are so proud of Jacob. He was officially inducted in the National Honor Society! He has worked hard for many years and it has paid off in many ways. Our prayer is that he will continue to mature into the man God made him to be. We love you and are very proud of you, Jacob!!

Jacob and Amanda:)

I know it has only been a couple weeks since Amanda's homecoming dance, but this week it was Jacob's turn. They go to different schools and planned to only go to her dance this year, but decided to go to Jacob's as well. They are really quite the pair. She is a really sweet girl. She's a year younger than Jacob so it will be interesting to see how things go next year when he starts college. That is such a big turning point in life. Right now he's looking at a college within 30 minutes of home (I like:). He'll still live at home so that will save a bunch of money. Plus, they have the degree program he's looking into. As of now, that is physical therapy. It'll be challenging but I know he can accomplish anything he sets his mind to. In the long run it will be a great career choice. He's already had colleges calling him trying to get him to enroll, but he's not ready to "go away" yet. I'm totally cool with that:) I think it's a smart move for the first 2 years anyways. He's been a busy guy working close to full-time hours at his job and taking senior level courses at school. He maintaing a good GPA, so he's balancing well. He loves having money now. Ken has helped him setting up a budget. Over the last several years he's had a savings account that has accumulated quite a bit, so now that he's working he's really able to get a feel of what it's like to have an income, bills, etc. He's growing up....makes me happy and sad all at the same time:)

Seth's 10th Birthday!

Seth had a super birthday and is so glad to be in the double digits now:) He's growing like a weed and really needed some new sneakers. He got some new clothes, a baseball bag for all his gear, Rock Band II from his bros, and some cashola from the grandparents (probably the best part:) He told me he wants to save up for a Wii. I personally don't think they need another video game system. Like, how many do kids need anyways! We had Atari and that suited us just fine, right?:) He's trying to convince me that the Wii has an exercise system that you can get with it, so he wouldn't be just sitting. We'll just have to see I suppose. We weren't able to get out much because our weather has absolutely stunk!! It's so unpredictable at times. We all enjoyed our day with Seth nonetheless and he was happy which made us happy of course. I can't believe he's the baby of the family and is bordering teen years...yikes! This is too hard sometimes....

Jacob's Homecoming '09

Wow! I can't believe a year has gone by since Jacob's last homecoming. He and Amanda go to different schools and this was her homecoming. They look so cute together, don't they?:) It's hard to watch your kids grow up before your eyes. It's funny, just this week we were thinking back to when Jacob was little and how he loved that kids show "The Big Comfy Couch." It hit home AGAIN how he's a young adult now, and not that little boy that used to call me momma. I know it's the reality of life, but boy, it's tough! It makes me feel like such a proud mom to have such great boys. They have truly added so much joy to my life. God is good!!

Beautiful Day for a picnic!

Last week we had a church picnic at one of the local parks. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun just playing together with all our friends. It was nice to just enjoy the day like you would at a family reunion. There were many games and events during the day. Below Caleb and Jacob were in an egg toss contest. They won!

Caleb taking it slow and easy...

Competitive spirit at its best!

Here Jacob had been in this position for the longest time. He felt the burn for days to come:)

Nice stride, Jacob:)
