Ken and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary this weekend. Ken surprised me with a night away with floor seats to the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA team. I bet you haven't figured out we love basketball:)...We had a nice steak and lobster dinner followed by the game. It was so cool to be so close to the players and see how tall they really are. We have kept up with Lebron James since he graduated a few years ago from the Akron area. He's amazing to watch. We stayed at a nice hotel and knowing it was our anniversary and that Ken is a platinum member, we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite. We had a wonderful and relaxing time. I can't believe we've been together that long already...I feel so old sometimes...I'm thankful for such a sweet husband and great kids...I don't know what I would do without them...
Cheryl is the greatest and she has demonstrated for 18 years what true unconditional love is all about. We have a great family and we love each other tremendously, but if it wasn't for Cheryl's steadfastness, loyalty, commitment, sacrifice and every other superlative praiseworthy adjective I can name, we would be nothing!! She is absolutely the BEST. I'm the luckiest man alive, because on top of all that she's incredibly beautiful too!!

Our Sign:)
I made this sign for the game. Austin Carr is a former Cav and now is an announcer for the Cavaliers. This is one of his favorite sayings during the game. It made TV:) Austin Carr gave us 2 thumbs up when he saw it...needless to say, that made Ken's day. Ken was wearing his Varejao wig when the camera man got him! It was such a blast!

Christmas Get-A-Way!
Ken and I treated the boys to a weekend full of basketball. Christmas evening we got to see "King James" in action. If you don't already know, Lebron James plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA team. What an awesome game! Our team won...yeah! The next day we just hung around the hotel swimming and went out to eat. Saturday the Harlem Globetrotters were playing in Cleveland so we ended our weekend get-a-away getting to see them in action too! The boys got plenty of autographs and pics with some of the team players. It was fun to have box seats to the game. That was a treat indeed! We all enjoy basketball so much so this is a weekend we'll never forget!
Here is a pic of Lebron James. See Seth at the bottom imitating Lebron:)

Globetrotter's Moves!
This was our first time seeing the Harlem Globetrotters. They are amazing! Ken saw them once when he was younger...back when they wore short shorts:)

Swim Time!
Our hotel had an indoor pool so the boys took advantage and got some swim time in. Wow, how quickly our summer tans disappeared:( We look Canadian now:) We had such a blast just hanging out this day. Sometimes it takes being away from home to really keep from getting distracted if you know what I mean. I am just glad that we had the opportunity to make more memories that the boys will cherish some day when they are older. I don't even like to think about them getting too old, but now that Jacob is close to graduating high school, it's hard not to think about it.

Christmas Day!
We had a great Christmas and the boys were ecstatic to open our family gift to find a sports package to one of their favorite NBA teams....Cleveland Cavaliers! Here are some pics of the team and we got to get some autographs as well. We are big fans of this team:) Needless to say, we had a great time and will never forget Christmas 2008!
Here is Seth wearing his "Wild Thing" wig:) You go, Seth!

Thanksgiving Day!
We had the opportunity to go to my sister's place for Thanksgiving this year. My brother and his family along with my uncles were able to make it as well. It was good to be with family as we all live a distance away from each other. Shelley is the mastermind for most of what takes place. Her gift for sure! The meal was wonderful and so were the leftovers:) The cousins love to get together and play. All our kids are growing up so fast. I just love making new memories that will last a lifetime! We are so blessed!

Some After Thanksgiving Fun!
To release some of those calories that were eaten over Thanksgiving, we spent the day after walking around shops and going to the park. We all played kickball, yes, even us adults:) I couldn't believe how sore I got from doing so little. It was so much fun playing together with the family....

Community Christmas Kickoff!
Jacob and Caleb got to dress up in costume this year for our downtown Christmas outreach. Every year our church gives away goodie bags to the children who sit on Santa's lap. Jacob is the bear and Caleb the reindeer. It was a fun day and it was great to put smiles on people's faces.
